OnePlus and OPPO phones now share most of their software. Since OxygenOS 12, OnePlus has built on OPPO's ColorOS code, so a OnePlus phone carries packages named oplus, coloros and heytap next to the oneplus ones. Both skins add a store, a browser, cloud services, game tools and, depending on region, partner apps. Package names vary more between versions here than on any other brand, so treat this list as a guide and confirm each name on your own phone.

How do I remove an app on OnePlus or OPPO?

Open Settings > Apps > App management (on some versions, Settings > Apps > App list). Tap the three-dot menu and choose Show system to include system apps. Open an app and tap Uninstall or Disable, whichever it offers.

Both skins let you uninstall more preinstalled apps than most brands, and many versions keep a safety net: a Recover system apps entry in the app management settings that reinstalls preinstalled apps you removed. Check that it exists on your phone before you rely on it.

For apps with neither button, ADB does the job (see how to set up ADB):

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.heytap.browser
adb shell pm enable com.heytap.browser # to undo

What should I check before I start?

A few minutes of preparation makes every change on these phones easy to undo:

  1. Note your software version in Settings > About device. OxygenOS and ColorOS releases differ, and so do Indian, Chinese and global builds.
  2. Look for Recover system apps in the app management settings. If it is there, you can bring back preinstalled apps without a computer.
  3. Save the full package list if you plan to use ADB, so you can compare it later:
adb shell pm list packages > oneplus-before.txt
  1. Decide which store you will use for updates. If you remove App Market, OPPO and OnePlus apps that update only through it stop updating until you turn it back on.
  2. Change a few apps at a time, then use the phone for a day: calls, texts, camera, notifications and a restart.

Which OnePlus and OPPO apps are safe to disable?

  • com.heytap.market: App Market, the OPPO and OnePlus app store. Play Store users do not need it.
  • com.heytap.browser: the OPPO browser, once another browser is your default.
  • com.heytap.music: the OPPO music player.
  • com.heytap.cloud: HeyTap Cloud, if you back up with Google instead.
  • com.heytap.pictorial: Lock screen magazine, the rotating lock-screen image feed.
  • com.nearme.statistics.rom: a usage statistics service.
  • com.oneplus.brickmode: Zen Mode on OnePlus, if you do not use it.
  • com.oplus.games: Games, the game library and in-game toolbox. Gaming performance modes go away; games themselves install and run normally.
  • com.coloros.phonemanager: Phone Manager, the clean-up and virus-scan tools. Android's storage settings and Google Play Protect still cover clean-up and app scanning.
  • Partner preloads, where your region has them: com.facebook.appmanager, com.facebook.services, com.facebook.system and com.netflix.partner.activation. Social, streaming and shopping apps from partners usually uninstall normally.

Which OnePlus and OPPO apps are advanced?

  • com.coloros.gamespaceui: the in-game toolbar. Call blocking during games and screen recording from the toolbar stop.
  • com.heytap.mcs: the HeyTap push service. Notifications from OPPO and OnePlus apps can stop.
  • com.heytap.usercenter: the OnePlus or OPPO account service. Account sign-in, cloud and theme purchases stop.

Which OnePlus and OPPO apps should I keep?

  • com.oplus.securitypermission: the permission prompts and controls. Do not remove it.
  • com.coloros.safecenter: the security center behind app permissions, auto-launch rules and battery controls.
  • com.android.launcher: the system launcher on recent OxygenOS and ColorOS. Keep it even with another launcher installed, since recents and gestures depend on it.
  • com.oplus.ota and com.oplus.romupdate: system updates and the configuration updates that come with them.
  • com.android.systemui, the phone app, contacts and messaging, as on every Android phone.

If a package name contains securitypermission, safecenter, ota or update and you are not sure what it does, leave it alone.

How do I check names on my own phone?

Get the full list and search it for the brand prefixes:

adb shell "pm list packages | grep -E 'oneplus|oplus|coloros|heytap|nearme'"

Paste the result into the package-list audit to see a verdict next to each one, or look up single names with the package lookup. Anything the site has not documented yet is marked so you can decide with care.

What happens after an OxygenOS or ColorOS update?

Big updates can reinstall the store, browser and partner apps, and sometimes re-enable disabled ones. After each major update, check Settings > Apps, or compare adb shell pm list packages -d with the list you saved. See what changes after an Android update.

The OnePlus and OPPO hub lists every OnePlus and OPPO package we document, sortable by verdict. For the general method on any brand, see how to remove bloatware.

Questions people ask

Why do OnePlus phones have OPPO and HeyTap apps?

Since OxygenOS 12, OnePlus software has been built on OPPO's ColorOS code base. Many system packages carry oplus, coloros or heytap names even on a OnePlus phone.

Can I get back a preinstalled app I uninstalled on OnePlus?

Yes. Many OxygenOS and ColorOS versions have a Recover system apps option in the app management settings, and ADB's install-existing command works on any version.

Are the package names the same on every OnePlus and OPPO phone?

No. They differ between OxygenOS and ColorOS versions and between regions, which is why you should check each name against your own list before acting.
