For app developers
Free app privacy policy generator
Answer what your app actually does: accounts, analytics, ads, children, deletion. The policy writes itself beside the questions, ready to copy, download as HTML or Markdown, or print.
The generator needs JavaScript, which is off or still loading.
Without it, use the app privacy policy template: the same policy with square-bracket placeholders to fill in by hand.
The generator asks these questions:
- App name
- Developer or company name
- Is content people create in the app saved on a server?
- Where is it published?
- Do users create an account or sign in?
- What do you ask for when someone creates an account?

How it works
- 01
Answer the questions
Each answer switches the matching section of the policy on or off. A few start at the usual answer; change any that do not fit your app.
- 02
Read the policy
It updates as you answer, in plain English, with your app name, developer name and contact address filled in.
- 03
Publish it
Copy it, download HTML or Markdown, or print. Host it on a page you control and paste that URL into each store console.
What this page does and does not do
It does
- Writes a policy from your answers, using clauses written for mobile apps.
- Covers what Google Play and the App Store ask a policy to say.
- Lets you copy, download (HTML or Markdown) or print the result.
It does not
- Store your answers or the policy on our server: the policy is put together on this page. Our host still sees ordinary request logs.
- Host the policy for you. Publish it on your own site.
- Give legal advice. Have a lawyer review it if your app handles health, money or children.
What each store asks for
- Google Play A privacy policy URL in the Play Console privacy policy field The store's documentation
- Google Play A link to the policy, or its text, inside the app The store's documentation
- Google Play Data safety answers that agree with the policy, SDKs included The store's documentation
- App Store A privacy policy link in the App Store Connect metadata The store's documentation
- App Store A link to the policy inside the app, easy to find The store's documentation
- App Store App Privacy answers that agree with the policy The store's documentation

Questions people ask
Is it free?
Yes, with no account and no watermark. Copy or download the policy and use it as your own.
Will the stores accept it?
It covers the points both stores list for a privacy policy. Reviewers also check that the policy matches what your app does, so answer honestly and update it when the app changes.
Where should I host the policy?
On a public page you control, such as your website or a page on your app landing site. Google asks for an active web page, not a PDF.
