What it does
Meta App Manager, formerly Facebook App Manager, keeps preinstalled Meta apps such as Facebook up to date on phones where Samsung includes them. It has no screen of its own and runs in the background on a schedule. Device surveys show it on current Galaxy models.
Also shown as Facebook App Manager.
If you disable it
Preinstalled Meta apps stop updating through Meta's own channel; they still update from the Play Store.
How to disable it
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Meta App Manager > Disable.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.facebook.appmanagerTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.facebook.appmanagerThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
