System Messages

HeyTap's push and system message service on OnePlus and OPPO phones, used for notices, app updates and promotions. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

System Messages is HeyTap's push channel on ColorOS and OxygenOS. It delivers notices from the maker and HeyTap services, such as account and update messages, app install suggestions and promotional content. HeyTap's privacy notice describes pushing notifications and content, including promotions, through its services. It keeps a background connection.

If you disable it

Promotional and system messages from the maker stop, and HeyTap apps such as App Market may miss their notifications. Notifications from Google and third-party apps are not affected.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.heytap.mcs

adb shell pm enable com.heytap.mcs

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.heytap.mcs

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.heytap.mcs

Data and battery

Per HeyTap's privacy notice, push services can use your data to send content, app suggestions and promotional messages.
