The Permission manager on OnePlus and OPPO phones, where you control camera, microphone, location and special app access. Keep it: Permission manager is needed for the phone, its updates or its security.
Permission manager is the ColorOS and OxygenOS screen for app permissions such as camera, microphone, contacts and location, plus switches like camera and microphone access for the whole phone. OnePlus documents it under Privacy settings. Community testers report it also supplies special access pages such as picture-in-picture. It runs when an app asks for a permission or you change one.
Permission settings pages break, so you cannot review or change what apps may access, and special access options such as picture-in-picture go missing.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.oplus.securitypermissionTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.oplus.securitypermissionThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.oplus.securitypermissionRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.oplus.securitypermissionNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
