About

About MySystemApp

An independent, plain-English reference for the apps that come preinstalled on a phone, and a free privacy-policy toolkit for the people who make apps.

What the site is

Open Settings on an Android phone, show the system apps, and you will find dozens of names you never installed. MySystemApp explains them one package at a time: what each one is, who put it there, what it does, what it reads, and what happens if you turn it off. Each page ends in a verdict (Keep, Safe to disable, Advanced or Do not remove), says how confident we are, links its sources and shows the date it was last checked.

So far the site documents 494 packages across 8 brand and carrier hubs, with tools to look a package up, audit a phone's whole package list and build a debloat checklist. A second, smaller part of the site helps app developers write the privacy policy that Google Play and the App Store ask for.

Who writes it

The pages are written and checked by the MySystemApp editors from public sources: the Android source code, Google's and the phone makers' own support pages, Google Play listings, and community debloat lists, which we cite as evidence and never copy. How we decide a verdict explains the method.

We are not affiliated with Google, Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, OPPO, Motorola, any carrier or any app developer. No verdict, ranking or listing on this site is paid for, and none ever will be.

A new owner in October 2026

The mysystemapp.com domain changed hands in October 2026. This site is new: it has no connection to any app, company or marketing system that used the name before, or to any content that was hosted at this address in the past. We do not hold anything the previous operator published, and we cannot answer for it.

If you reached an old address here looking for a particular app's privacy policy, contact that app's developer through its store listing.

How to reach us

Corrections, package requests and questions go through the contact page, or by email to contact@email.mysystemapp.com. A correction is checked against the sources before the page changes, and the page shows its new verified date when it does.
