Xiaomi Account
The Xiaomi Account sign-in on Xiaomi phones, used by Xiaomi Cloud, Find device, themes, GetApps and other Xiaomi services.
Xiaomi package
Xiaomi's Find device, which locates, rings, locks or wipes a lost phone and ties it to your Mi Account after a reset. Do not remove it: disabling or uninstalling it can leave the phone unusable.
Find device lets you locate a lost Xiaomi phone on a map, make it ring, put it in lost mode or erase it, from Xiaomi Cloud on the web. Xiaomi documents it as off by default; once you turn it on, the phone is linked to your Mi Account and stays locked to that account even after a factory reset or reflash, which is Xiaomi's anti-theft lock. It runs in the background while turned on.
Also shown as Find my device (Xiaomi).
With Find device on, removing the package can leave the phone locked to your Mi Account with no way to switch the lock off from the phone, so a later reset may need your account password or Xiaomi support. Community testers also report that factory reset from Settings, the security status page and Mi Account sign-in break without it.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Yes. Recent Xiaomi phones also support Google's Find Hub (formerly Find My Device). If you prefer it, turn Xiaomi's Find device off under Settings > Xiaomi Account > Xiaomi Cloud > Find device rather than removing the package.
The previous owner left Find device on. Only that account's password or Xiaomi support, with proof of purchase, can release the lock.
