The Xiaomi component behind Second space, Dual apps and related Security features on MIUI and HyperOS phones. Do not remove it: disabling or uninstalling it can leave the phone unusable.

What it does

System features plug-in carries core pieces of Xiaomi's Security app, including Second space (a separate, encrypted copy of the phone's user space), Dual apps and parts of fingerprint setup. Xiaomi documents Second space as a separate space with its own encryption. Community testers report that removing this package caused boot loops on some MIUI versions, while on MIUI 13 and later the phone usually starts but those features disappear.

If you disable it

Second space and Dual apps stop working, and anything stored in a second space becomes unreachable. Some MIUI versions boot loop after it is removed.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.miui.securitycore

Restore it after a per-user uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.miui.securitycore

Data and battery

It manages the separate encrypted space and cloned apps on the phone itself; no network service is documented for it.
