Xiaomi Cloud, the Mi Account storage service for synced data, backups and the Find device feature. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Xiaomi Cloud is the settings page and service behind Xiaomi's personal cloud storage. Signed in with a Mi Account, you choose which data to sync, such as photos, contacts, messages and notes, manage storage and backups, and turn on Find device, which Xiaomi offers as part of Xiaomi Cloud. It runs in the background while sync or Find device is on.

If you disable it

Cloud sync, cloud backups and the Find device settings page stop working. If Find device is on, turn it off before disabling this, or you may be unable to switch it off later.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.miui.cloudservice

adb shell pm enable com.miui.cloudservice

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.cloudservice

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.miui.cloudservice

Data and battery
