Find device
Xiaomi's Find device, which locates, rings, locks or wipes a lost phone and ties it to your Mi Account after a reset.
Xiaomi package
The Xiaomi Account sign-in on Xiaomi phones, used by Xiaomi Cloud, Find device, themes, GetApps and other Xiaomi services. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
Xiaomi Account, still called Mi Account in many places, is the sign-in that ties the phone to Xiaomi's services, including Xiaomi Cloud, Find device, themes, Mi Coin and app reviews. Signing in links the device to your account, and with Find device on that link survives a reset. It runs in the background while you are signed in.
Also shown as Mi Account.
Every Xiaomi service that needs an account stops working. If you are signed in with Find device on, sign out and turn Find device off first; skipping that risks being locked to the account after a reset.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.xiaomi.accountTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.xiaomi.accountThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.accountRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.xiaomi.accountNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
