Xiaomi's statistics collector, which batches app-usage events from Xiaomi apps and uploads them to Xiaomi's servers. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Analytics is the reporting channel that Xiaomi's own apps use to send usage statistics. Apps hand it events such as launches, updates, installs and feature use, and it batches and uploads them. Xiaomi documents this app usage data as used for product analysis, personalization and advertising. It runs in the background on a schedule and when apps report events.

If you disable it

Nothing you will notice. Xiaomi apps keep working; they stop reporting usage statistics through this channel.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.miui.analytics

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.miui.analytics

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.analytics

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.miui.analytics

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

Xiaomi's documentation lists the Google advertising ID, app open and close events, a daily snapshot of installed apps and device details, kept for 180 days; Xiaomi says you can opt out in privacy settings.
