My Verizon
Verizon's account app for paying the bill, checking data use and changing your plan on phones Verizon sells.
Verizon package
Verizon's spam call screening app; on newer phones you manage it from the Verizon Protect app instead. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
Call Filter is Verizon's app for screening incoming calls. It labels likely spam and robocalls, keeps a log of blocked calls and, on the paid Call Filter Plus tier, shows caller ID and blocks whole categories of callers. Verizon preloads it on phones it sells and lists it on Google Play. Verizon now points customers to the Verizon Protect app for managing the service.
Also shown as Verizon Call Filter, Caller Name ID.
The app's screens and blocked-call log go away. Spam filtering is set on your Verizon line rather than in the app, and Verizon's help says removing its call protection app does not switch the filter off.
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Call Filter > Disable or Uninstall; the exact wording follows the phone's maker.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.vzw.ecidTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.vzw.ecidThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.vzw.ecidRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.vzw.ecidNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Checks incoming caller numbers against Verizon's spam data and reads your call log to show filtered calls.
