Call Protect
AT&T's former spam call app; AT&T now offers its call blocking through the ActiveArmor app.
AT&T package
AT&T's security app that combines spam call blocking, device security checks and data-breach alerts. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
AT&T ActiveArmor is AT&T's mobile security app. It brings together spam and fraud call blocking, device security checks and data-breach alerts, with more features on a paid advanced tier. It took over from AT&T's separate Call Protect and Mobile Security apps and kept the Mobile Security package name. AT&T preloads it and lists it on Google Play.
Also shown as AT&T Mobile Security, ActiveArmor.
The app's alerts and settings go away. AT&T treats network call protection as a separate line setting and says to keep it on; removing the app does not cancel a paid subscription.
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > AT&T ActiveArmor > Disable or Uninstall; the exact wording follows the phone's maker.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.att.mobilesecurityTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.att.mobilesecurityThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.att.mobilesecurityRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.att.mobilesecurityNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Checks callers against AT&T's spam data, scans installed apps and network connections, and links to your AT&T account for subscription features.
