T-Mobile package
A Sprint-era installer that downloaded and updated carrier and partner apps in the background on Sprint phones. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
Mobile Installer was the tool Sprint used to download and update its own apps and partner apps on its Android phones, often without the user opening an app store. Sprint has since merged into T-Mobile, and phones from that period may still carry it.
Carrier apps stop arriving or updating through it. Google Play updates are not affected.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.sprint.ce.updaterTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.sprint.ce.updaterThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sprint.ce.updaterRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.sprint.ce.updaterNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
