A Samsung resource overlay that holds the Wi-Fi configuration values used by Android's Wi-Fi service. Keep it: com.samsung.android.wifi.resources is needed for the phone, its updates or its security.

What it does

This package contains no code. It is a resource overlay, a set of configuration values that Android's Wi-Fi service reads at start-up, carrying Samsung's settings for how Wi-Fi behaves on Galaxy hardware. It is applied whenever Wi-Fi is in use. Samsung's application lists for Android 11 include it, and device surveys show it on current models.

If you disable it

Wi-Fi may fall back to default values that do not suit the hardware, or fail to work properly. There is nothing to gain from disabling it.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.wifi.resources

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.wifi.resources

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.wifi.resources

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.wifi.resources

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
