The low-level service for the ANT wireless radio that some older Galaxy phones used to talk to fitness sensors. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

ANT is a low-power wireless protocol used by heart-rate straps, bike sensors and similar fitness gear. This package connects ANT apps to the phone's radio hardware on Galaxy models that support it. Samsung's application lists for Android 10 and 11 include it, and device surveys find it on older phones such as the S10, Note9 and Note20 Ultra. It runs only when an ANT app is in use.

Also shown as ANT+ HAL service.

If you disable it

ANT+ fitness sensors can no longer connect directly to the phone. Bluetooth sensors are unaffected.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.dsi.ant.server

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.dsi.ant.server

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.dsi.ant.server

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.dsi.ant.server

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
