ANT HAL Service
The low-level service for the ANT wireless radio that some older Galaxy phones used to talk to fitness sensors.
Samsung package
Lets fitness apps read ANT+ sensors such as heart-rate straps and bike sensors on phones with ANT radios. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
ANT+ Plugins Service gives fitness apps a common way to read data from ANT+ devices like heart-rate monitors, cadence and speed sensors and power meters. It is published on the Play Store by the makers of ANT and was preinstalled on older Galaxy phones that have ANT radio hardware. It runs only when a fitness app uses an ANT+ sensor.
Fitness apps can no longer read ANT+ sensors. Bluetooth sensors are unaffected.
Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > ANT+ Plugins Service > Disable.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplusTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplusThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplusRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.dsi.ant.plugins.antplusNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
