Samsung's cross-device service for calls and texts on other devices and continuing apps on a tablet or PC. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Continuity Service links Galaxy devices signed in to the same Samsung account. It powers Call and text on other devices, which lets a tablet or Galaxy Book make calls and send texts through your phone, and Continue apps on other devices, which picks up Samsung Browser or Samsung Notes where you left off. It runs in the background when those features are on.

If you disable it

Calls and texts on your other Galaxy devices and continuing apps across devices stop. A single phone works normally.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.mcfds

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.mcfds

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.mcfds

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.mcfds

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

Shares call and message events and app state with your other devices signed in to the same Samsung account.
