A Samsung Wi-Fi service with on-device models behind automatic Wi-Fi switching and connection diagnostics. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

WiFiAiService is a Samsung system service with no screen that supports the intelligent Wi-Fi options on Galaxy phones, such as turning Wi-Fi on near saved networks and judging when a network is too poor to use. Community analysis describes it as a set of on-device models plus Wi-Fi diagnostics. It runs in the background while Wi-Fi is on.

If you disable it

Automatic Wi-Fi features such as switching away from weak networks or turning Wi-Fi on near saved networks may stop working. Manual Wi-Fi connections still work.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.wifi.ai

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.wifi.ai

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.wifi.ai

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.wifi.ai

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
