Samsung's Wi-Fi troubleshooting tips that explain why a network failed to connect and what to try. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Wi-Fi tips adds help to the Wi-Fi settings on Galaxy phones. When a network fails to connect or has no internet, it can show a tip explaining the likely cause and what to try, and it has a page listing all tips. It runs when Wi-Fi settings show a problem.

If you disable it

Troubleshooting tips stop appearing. Community testers report that on some phones you can no longer join a Wi-Fi network that has no internet connection, such as a camera or printer hotspot, so re-enable it if that happens.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.net.wifi.wifiguider

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.net.wifi.wifiguider

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.net.wifi.wifiguider

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.net.wifi.wifiguider
