Samsung's multi-device framework, listed as Quick Share Connectivity, that links Galaxy phones, tablets and PCs. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

This package is a shared framework for Samsung's multi-device features. Samsung's application lists for Android 10 call it MDE Service Framework, and the Galaxy Store now lists it as Quick Share Connectivity. Features such as Quick Share, Link to Windows and other cross-device connections build on it. It runs in the background when those features look for or connect to your other devices.

Also shown as MDE Service Framework.

If you disable it

Quick Share and other cross-device features may fail to find or connect to your tablet, PC or other devices.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.mdx.kit

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.mdx.kit

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.mdx.kit

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.mdx.kit

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
