Shows the pop-up cards that offer to connect nearby Samsung devices, using the results of Samsung's device scanning. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

This package is the visible side of Nearby device scanning. When a nearby Samsung device such as Galaxy Buds, a watch or a TV is ready to connect, it shows the pop-up card that lets you connect with one tap. It works with the scanning agent and the Nearby device scanning switch in connection settings. It runs only when a device is found.

Also shown as Nearby Device Scanning.

If you disable it

One-tap connection pop-ups for nearby Samsung devices stop. Pairing through Bluetooth settings still works.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.easysetup

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.easysetup

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.easysetup

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.easysetup

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
