A small installer that fetches Galaxy Wearable when you first pair a Galaxy Watch or Buds. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

This placeholder package stands in for the Galaxy Wearable app until it is needed. When you start pairing a Samsung watch or earbuds, it downloads and installs the full Galaxy Wearable app. It has no other job and is idle the rest of the time.

If you disable it

The automatic install of Galaxy Wearable during first pairing does not happen; you can still install Galaxy Wearable from the Galaxy Store or Play Store.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.watchmanagerstub

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.app.watchmanagerstub

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.watchmanagerstub

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.app.watchmanagerstub

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
