Samsung package
A Samsung social and news feature from the Note8 and Note9 era, listed in Settings as What's new. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
This package belonged to a Samsung social and updates feature on older Galaxy phones. Device surveys find it only on the Galaxy Note8 and Note9, and Samsung's application lists for Android 10 include it. Samsung no longer offers the feature. It does not run unless opened.
Nothing you will notice on current software.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.socialTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.app.socialThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.socialRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.app.socialNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
No documented data collection beyond its own content requests.
