Samsung's Open Market Customization agent, which applies region and carrier settings and offers recommended apps. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

This agent handles Samsung's Open Market Customization, the per-region and per-carrier settings layer of One UI. Samsung's application lists for Android 10 label it Configuration update, and current phones show it as Recommended apps, the prompt that suggests extra apps after setup. It runs after setup and when Samsung pushes new customization data.

Also shown as Configuration update, OMC Agent.

If you disable it

Recommended app prompts after setup stop. Region or carrier configuration updates delivered through it may not apply, so re-enable it if carrier features misbehave.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.omcagent

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.app.omcagent

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.omcagent

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.app.omcagent

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
