Settings
A Motorola settings extension for carrier features such as Wi-Fi calling on networks like AT&T, T-Mobile and Orange.
Motorola package
Motorola's hotspot entitlement check, which asks your carrier whether your plan allows tethering. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
Entitlement runs the check some carriers require before Wi-Fi hotspot or tethering switches on, confirming with the carrier that your plan includes it. Community lists tie it to hotspot and tethering on Moto phones. It runs when you turn on the hotspot.
On carriers that require the check, the hotspot may fail to turn on or turn off again. On others nothing changes.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.motorola.entitlementTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.motorola.entitlementThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.motorola.entitlementRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.motorola.entitlementNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
