A Motorola settings extension for carrier features such as Wi-Fi calling on networks like AT&T, T-Mobile and Orange. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

This package adds carrier-specific pages to Settings, which is why it shows up under the plain name Settings. Community lists tie it to Wi-Fi calling options on carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile and Orange. It runs when those settings are opened or the carrier feature needs it.

Also shown as Carrier settings extension.

If you disable it

Wi-Fi calling and other carrier settings pages may disappear or stop working on supported carriers. On unlocked phones with other carriers you may notice nothing.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.motorola.carriersettingsext

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.motorola.carriersettingsext

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.motorola.carriersettingsext

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.motorola.carriersettingsext

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
