Cleaner

Xiaomi's Cleaner on current MIUI and HyperOS phones, which finds caches, leftovers and large files to delete. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Cleaner is the cleanup tool Xiaomi ships on current global Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones; it replaced the older com.miui.cleanmaster package. It scans for app caches, residual files, large files and duplicate photos, then offers to delete them, and it opens from the Security app and from storage warnings. It runs when you open it and when the system checks storage.

If you disable it

The Cleaner screen and its cleanup prompts stop working. Android's storage settings still show usage and let you clear app caches one app at a time.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.miui.cleaner

adb shell pm enable com.miui.cleaner

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.cleaner

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.miui.cleaner

It reads storage and app caches to find files to delete; community lists report it carries third-party tracking libraries.
