MiWallpaper
The Xiaomi service that draws the home and lock screen wallpapers, including super wallpapers and lock screen coloring.
Xiaomi package
The Xiaomi package behind the screen-off clock display and the lock screen style editor, also tied to the fingerprint area on some phones. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
This package draws Xiaomi's always-on display, the clock and notification icons shown while the screen is off, and runs the editor for lock screen clocks and styles. On some phones it also shows the in-display fingerprint area without first tapping the screen. It runs while the always-on display is showing and when you edit the lock screen.
Also shown as Always-on display, Lock screen editor.
The screen-off clock display and the lock screen style editor stop working, and on some phones you must tap or press power before the fingerprint sensor responds.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.miui.aodTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.miui.aodThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.aodRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.miui.aodNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Nothing beyond your lock screen and display settings.
If you only want to save battery, turning the always-on display off in Settings does the same job.
com.miui.aod is Edit Lock screen. The Xiaomi package behind the screen-off clock display and the lock screen style editor, also tied to the fingerprint area on some phones.
You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first. On most phones it takes ADB.
