Google package
The Mainline module that fetches attestation certificates so apps can verify the phone and its keys are genuine. Keep it: RemoteProvisioner is needed for the phone, its updates or its security.
RemoteProvisioner is the app inside Google's build of the Remote Key Provisioning Mainline module, introduced in Android 14 after earlier versions shipped it as a separate app. It contacts Google's provisioning service to obtain short-lived certificates for the phone's hardware-backed keystore and keeps a supply of them ready. Android uses those certificates for key attestation, which banking, payment and work apps rely on to check that the device and its keys are genuine.
Also shown as Remote Key Provisioning.
Once the stored certificates run out, key attestation fails, which can make banking, payment and work apps reject the device or refuse to set up keys. Community lists describe this package as a general security app, which understates that role.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.rkpdappTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.google.android.rkpdappThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.rkpdappRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.google.android.rkpdappNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Sends device-specific public keys to Google's provisioning service to receive certificates; it does not handle personal content.
