AT&T's support app with device tutorials, a phone health scan and step-by-step troubleshooting. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

AT&T Device Help is the support app AT&T preloads on the phones it sells. It runs a scan of the phone's condition, walks you through fixes for common problems and links to AT&T's tutorials and support articles. It is also on Google Play, and AT&T support staff may ask you to open it during a call.

Also shown as AT&T Device Help.

If you disable it

The tutorials and self-check tool go away; AT&T's support website covers the same ground.

How to disable it

Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Device Help > Disable or Uninstall; the exact wording follows the phone's maker.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.att.dh

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.att.dh

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.att.dh

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.att.dh

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
