A remote-support plugin for AT&T Device Help on Samsung phones that lets an AT&T agent view and control the phone. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

This package is a Samsung-specific plugin for AT&T's Device Help app, built by AetherPal, a remote-support company that VMware later bought. It gives an AT&T support agent a way to see your screen and change settings during a support session you agree to. It has no icon and is meant to be used only during such a session.

If you disable it

AT&T support cannot take remote control of the phone. Device Help's other features keep working.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.aetherpal.attdh.se

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.aetherpal.attdh.se

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.aetherpal.attdh.se

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.aetherpal.attdh.se

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

During a support session you approve, it shares your screen and device settings with the AT&T agent.
