GetApps, Xiaomi's own app store on global phones, which also delivers updates for many of Xiaomi's preinstalled apps. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

GetApps is the app store Xiaomi preinstalls alongside Google Play on global Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones. You can browse and install apps from it, and it pushes updates to many of Xiaomi's own system apps. Xiaomi says GetApps reviews the apps it lists and offers it in markets such as India, Indonesia, Spain and Turkey. It checks for updates in the background and shows install suggestions.

Also shown as Mi Picks, Mi App Store, Get Apps.

If you disable it

Xiaomi apps that update through GetApps stop getting updates, and its update notices and app suggestions stop. Google Play keeps working for everything else.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.xiaomi.mipicks

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.xiaomi.mipicks

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.mipicks

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.xiaomi.mipicks

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.

Data and battery

Xiaomi lists your Mi Account ID, advertising ID, search history, installed-app list, network type and region as data GetApps collects.

Checks for app updates in the background; turning off auto-update in its settings reduces that.

Where it appears

  • Made by Xiaomi.
  • Android versions: 13 to 16.
