Xiaomi's Calendar app, which shows your accounts' events and adds holidays and reminders. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Calendar is Xiaomi's preinstalled calendar app. It shows events from the accounts on the phone, such as your Google account, plus holidays and reminders, and it feeds calendar cards in Xiaomi's widgets. Since MIUI 12 it cannot be uninstalled from the phone, only disabled. It refreshes in the background to deliver reminders.

If you disable it

Event reminders from this app stop, and calendar cards in Xiaomi widgets go blank. Events stored in your Google account stay safe; install another calendar app first.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.xiaomi.calendar

adb shell pm enable com.xiaomi.calendar

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.calendar
