Xiaomi's Weather app, which also feeds weather to the home-screen clock widget and other Xiaomi screens. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Weather is Xiaomi's forecast app, showing current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, rain and air-quality alerts for one or more cities. Beyond the app itself, it supplies the weather shown in Xiaomi's clock and weather widget and in other system screens. It refreshes in the background so forecasts and alerts stay current.

If you disable it

The Weather app and the weather part of Xiaomi's clock widget stop updating. Any other weather app or widget still works.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.miui.weather2

adb shell pm enable com.miui.weather2

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.weather2

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.miui.weather2

Data and battery

Uses your location, if you allow it, to fetch local forecasts from Xiaomi's weather provider.

Refreshes forecasts in the background; removing the widget or turning off alerts reduces that.
