D-MAT
A Verizon-signed background service on Verizon Galaxy phones, shown as D-MAT; Verizon has not documented what it does.
Verizon package
A companion package to Verizon's D-MAT service that, going by its name, declares the permissions that service uses. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
This package travels with Verizon's D-MAT service (com.verizon.obdm). Its name marks it as a permissions package: the kind that declares custom permissions which carrier components use to talk to each other, and which usually has no code that runs on its own. Verizon has not documented it, and it has no icon or screen.
Unknown. Removing it while D-MAT is still active may cut that service off from access it relies on, so disable both or neither.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.verizon.obdm_permissionsTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.verizon.obdm_permissionsThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.verizon.obdm_permissionsRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.verizon.obdm_permissionsNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Not documented; a permissions package normally stores and sends nothing itself.
