Samsung Keyboard
The default on-screen keyboard on Galaxy phones, with predictive text, emoji, stickers and handwriting.
Samsung package
The older Samsung Keyboard package used on Galaxy phones before the current Samsung Keyboard took over. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
This is the earlier Samsung Keyboard, used as the default keyboard on Galaxy phones until Samsung moved to the com.samsung.android.honeyboard package. Device surveys find it only on older models such as the Note8 and Note9. On those phones it is the keyboard used for typing, including your password after a restart, so it matters there.
Also shown as Samsung Keyboard (legacy).
On phones that still use it, you may have no keyboard at all, including for an alphanumeric lock password after a restart. Install and switch to another keyboard first.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.android.inputmethodTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.sec.android.inputmethodThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.android.inputmethodRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.sec.android.inputmethodNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
