Gboard
Google's keyboard app, the default way to type on Pixels and on many other Android phones.
Android (AOSP) package
The package that supplies keyboard layouts for physical keyboards connected to the phone. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
Input Devices supplies the keyboard layouts Android offers for physical keyboards connected by USB or Bluetooth, such as US, German or Dvorak. Settings reads the list when you choose a layout for a hardware keyboard, and apps can add more layouts the same way. It has no screens of its own.
Physical keyboards fall back to a default layout; community reports also say some phone makers' on-screen keyboards stop working, which could lock you out of a password-protected phone.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.android.inputdevicesTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.android.inputdevicesThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.inputdevicesRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.android.inputdevicesNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Holds keyboard layout files; no user data.
