The Galaxy home screen and app drawer, which also provides the Recents screen and gesture navigation. Keep it: One UI Home is needed for the phone, its updates or its security.
One UI Home is the default launcher on Galaxy phones: the home screen, the Apps screen, folders and widgets. It also provides the Recents (multitasking) screen and the gesture navigation that goes with it, so it keeps working in the background even if you use another launcher. Samsung updates it through the Play Store and Galaxy Store. It runs constantly.
Also shown as Samsung One UI Home, TouchWiz Home.
Without another launcher there is no home screen. Even with one, the Recents button and gestures can stop working on Galaxy phones.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.android.app.launcherTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.sec.android.app.launcherThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.android.app.launcherRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.sec.android.app.launcherNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Stores your home-screen layout on the phone and backs it up through Samsung Cloud or Smart Switch if those are used.
