The Apps panel inside Samsung's Edge panels, holding favorite apps and saved app pairs. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

This is the Apps panel in Samsung's Edge panels. It shows up to ten favorite apps and app pairs that open two apps in split screen together. It runs only while the Edge panel is open. Device surveys show it as a separate package on Galaxy phones up to about Android 14.

Also shown as Apps edge.

If you disable it

The Apps panel and any app pairs saved in it disappear from the Edge panel. Split screen from the Recents screen still works.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.appsedge

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.app.appsedge

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.appsedge

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.app.appsedge

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
