Samsung package
The desktop-style home screen that Samsung DeX shows when a Galaxy phone is connected to a monitor or TV. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.
Samsung DeX turns a connected monitor or TV into a desktop with windows, a taskbar and a start menu, driven by the phone. This package is the DeX home screen, the launcher you see on the big display. It runs only while a DeX session is active over a cable, an adapter or a wireless display.
Also shown as Samsung DeX.
Samsung DeX stops working on monitors and TVs. Plain screen mirroring through Smart View is separate.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)
adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.android.app.desktoplauncherTurn it back on
adb shell pm enable com.sec.android.app.desktoplauncherThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
Uninstall for the main user
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.android.app.desktoplauncherRestore after an uninstall
adb shell cmd package install-existing com.sec.android.app.desktoplauncherNew to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
Nothing beyond its own layout settings.
