Samsung's store for themes, icon packs, wallpapers and Always On Display styles on Galaxy phones. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Galaxy Themes is where you browse, download and apply themes, icon packs, wallpapers and Always On Display designs from Samsung and other creators. It needs a Samsung account to download content, and it works with the Galaxy Themes Service package to apply what you choose. You open it from a long press on the home screen or from Settings. It runs when you open it and when it checks for theme updates.

If you disable it

You can no longer browse or apply themes, icon packs and AOD styles. On some models built-in wallpapers are listed through it, so the wallpaper picker may show fewer choices.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.themestore

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.themestore

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.themestore

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.themestore

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
