Samsung package
A Samsung face-detection service used by camera and screen features; it is not the face unlock service. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.
SmartFaceService is a background service that detects faces through the cameras for Samsung features. Community descriptions tie it to the Samsung camera's face detection and to options that keep the screen on while you look at it. It does not handle face unlock. It has no screen and runs only when a feature asks for face detection.
Features that detect whether a face is present, such as keeping the screen on while you look at it, may stop working. Face unlock is handled elsewhere.
On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.
Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.smartfaceThe stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
