The on-device language models that Galaxy AI translation features, such as Interpreter and Live Translate, run on. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Samsung Language Core holds the language models that let Galaxy AI features translate and process text and speech on the phone. Interpreter, Live Translate in calls and other translation features use it, and you add languages from the language packs page in Settings. Samsung lists it in the Galaxy Store. It runs when one of those features is in use.

If you disable it

On-device translation in Interpreter, Live Translate and similar Galaxy AI features stops working.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.offline.languagemodel

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.offline.languagemodel

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.offline.languagemodel

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.offline.languagemodel

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
