Enhanced features

An older Samsung service for richer messaging and profile sharing between Samsung users, before standard RCS chat. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Enhanced features was a Samsung service on older Galaxy phones that let Samsung users share profiles and send richer messages and larger files to each other, registering your phone number with Samsung to find other users. Community lists describe it this way, and it does not appear in device surveys of current Galaxy phones. Modern Galaxy phones use RCS chat through the messaging app instead.

If you disable it

Samsung's Enhanced features messaging and profile sharing stop on phones that still have it. Ordinary texts and RCS chat are separate.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.coreapps

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.coreapps

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.coreapps

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.coreapps
