Samsung's to-do and reminder app, reached from the Calendar app, that alerts you at a time or place. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Reminder is Samsung's to-do list. You create reminders in the app, from the Calendar's Reminder tab or by voice, and it can alert you at a set time, when you arrive at or leave a place, or repeat on a schedule. It can also sync with Microsoft To Do. On most Galaxy phones the app is reached through Calendar rather than its own icon, and it runs in the background to deliver alerts.

Also shown as Samsung Reminder.

If you disable it

Samsung reminders stop alerting and the Reminder tab in Samsung Calendar goes away. Google Tasks and other to-do apps are not affected.

How to disable it

Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Reminder > Disable.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.reminder

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.app.reminder

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.reminder

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.app.reminder

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
