Samsung's email app for Gmail, Outlook, Exchange and other accounts, preinstalled on many Galaxy phones. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

Samsung Email handles personal and work mail accounts, including Exchange ActiveSync, with a unified inbox and calendar sync for work accounts. Samsung publishes it on the Play Store and Galaxy Store, and it came preinstalled on many Galaxy phones, especially older ones and carrier models. It syncs mail in the background for any account you add.

Also shown as Samsung Email.

If you disable it

Mail accounts set up in Samsung Email stop syncing to the phone. Gmail and other mail apps are unaffected.

How to disable it

Settings offers Disable for this package on most phones. Open Settings > Apps > Email > Disable.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.samsung.android.email.provider

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.samsung.android.email.provider

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.email.provider

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.samsung.android.email.provider

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
