What it does

Security Center is a privileged ColorOS and OxygenOS component that manages security-related settings, including special app access such as permission to draw over other apps. Community testers report that the screen lock depends on it on OnePlus phones running Android 14. It runs from boot.

If you disable it

Community testers report that the display-over-other-apps permission page breaks and that the screen lock stops working on Android 14 OnePlus phones.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.oplus.safecenter

adb shell pm enable com.oplus.safecenter

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.
