The settings and firmware updater for OPPO and OnePlus earbuds, opened from the Bluetooth pop-up rather than an icon. You can disable it, with a caveat: read what stops working first.

What it does

Wireless Earphones manages OPPO and OnePlus earbuds: battery levels for each bud and the case, sound effects, touch gestures and firmware updates. It has no app icon; you reach it from the pop-up after pairing or from the earbuds' entry in Bluetooth settings. It replaced the separate OnePlus Buds app on OxygenOS 12 and later, and runs while supported earbuds are connected.

Also shown as HeyMelody, OnePlus Buds settings.

If you disable it

Earbud battery readouts, gesture and sound settings and firmware updates for OPPO and OnePlus earbuds go away. The earbuds still pair and play audio over standard Bluetooth.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

Disable it (reversible)

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.oplus.melody

Turn it back on

adb shell pm enable com.oplus.melody

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

Uninstall for the main user

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.oplus.melody

Restore after an uninstall

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.oplus.melody

New to ADB? Set it up in about ten minutes.
