OnePlus's membership app, known as Red Cable Club, offering perks such as extra cloud storage and extended warranty. It is safe to disable: you lose nothing most people will miss.

What it does

OnePlus Membership, sold in several markets as the Red Cable Club, is a free program for OnePlus owners with benefits such as extra cloud storage, extended warranty offers and member deals. OnePlus ships it as a system-level app. It runs in the background when you are signed in to a OnePlus account.

If you disable it

Membership perks and offers in the app go away. Community lists report lower battery drain once it stops running with an account signed in.

How to disable it

On most phones Settings greys out Disable for this package, so ADB is the way to turn it off. The commands below work without root and can be undone.

adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.oneplus.membership

adb shell pm enable com.oneplus.membership

The stronger option removes it for your user only; the original copy stays on the phone and a factory reset brings it back. Prefer disabling: it is easier to undo.

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.oneplus.membership

adb shell cmd package install-existing com.oneplus.membership
